OpenAM

20110317-124659.jpgI am in the process of reviewing the Access Management book, OpenAM, by Indira Thangasamy. So far, I have been very impressed with the level of detail that Indira has managed to pack into each chapter. The first chapters focus on explaining what IDM is and a background on OpenAM the product. This overview touches briefly on the Oracle acquisition and on the progress made by Forgerock. As each chapter includes complete code and instructions, and not just code snippets, then I would feel comfortable recommending this book to both experienced engineers as well as folks that are not as experienced with OpenSSO or OpenAM. I have made it through a little more than half the book so far and I am really looking forward to the next few sections which focus on integration with Salesforce and Google Apps and also the section on RESTful Identity Services (chapter 9 I believe).

I’ll come back and finish the review once I finish the book. But so far so good.
